This photo is the exception during the long winter months in Michigan. We did have some rare warm days this winter. On December 4 and January 12 when the temp got into the low 50s, I was able to get in 30+ mile rides. Today it made it into the mid 50s again, but because of work and rain, I could not get out. Hopefully, I will be able to get a February ride in as well.
No, I am not wearing my wooden shoes during riding, even though it looks like that. That is my Dutch version of biking shoe warmth booties...actually a worn pair of wool hunting socks cut off as toe warmers! One of those days I did not wear them and I did not know it until I got off the bike, but my toes were numb for awhile after dismounting.
Training has moved indoors for winter. I am riding my new stationary bike (that's a seperate post I will make sometime) and using my rowing machine on one day , and alternating that with a day of jogging/walking on the treadmill. I hope to add some weight lifting to the routine later.
