Day 9 - Payson, AZ to Heber, AZ

We are back on the road again!! Everyone was really ready to continue on our tour. We had a good time in Payson, but everyone was ready early this morning for the ride to Heber, AZ.....about 52 miles. Though not long, it had a 6 miles long climb 6 degree grade climb up to 7750 feet to the top of the Mongolian Rim. Adam and I rode together today. Adam was patient with Grandpa's climb pace and stuck with him.

Someone in our group got a good photo of a large black bear along the road. There are many elk in this area. We did not see any today, but I did see 2 on Sunday's ride to Tonto Natural Bridge.

It is dinner time and we are experiencing some mountain showers and wind right now, so I will sing off.

  1. Pete snd Adam, Our thought and prayers are with you and the whole crew one this trip. Glad to hear that you are on the road again, even though it was a very strenuous climb. we have traveled that road by car many time on our way to and from Arizona for the winter. Augie has many fond memories of the 2008 ride. Keep pedaling and God Bless. Augie and Anne Faber
