It was quite cool last night and it became very breezy after
camp had been set up. Some elected to sleep in various rooms in the Trenton
Christian School. It slept in my sleeping bag with a sweatshirt and my biking
long leg tights on to keep warm.
Today we had a 71 mile day. It was cool in the morning and I
had my long legged tights on and long sleeve shirt and jacket on for a good
part of the day. At the 28 mile mark, we had another church stop at Bloomfield
CRC. They had a lot of treats out for us.
At the 38 mile mark, we had to take a free ferry to cross a
bay. We were urged to check out a stop high above the ferry dock, that is
called Lake On the Mountain. We rode about a mile up a hill and there high
above the water below, is a small lake that never drains out and they are not
sure where its water supply comes from. The ferry crossing was short and they
run every 30 minutes. Julie was on the other side of the channel for a SAG
stop.
We camped in Kingston, ON Lake Ontario Park. The two
Kingston CRC churches provided the salads, fruit, and deserts for our evening
meal and joined us for our Peleton meeting and they had a quartet that led us
in some singing.
