Day 51 Ajax, ON to Trenton, ON

Our day started with 10 miles of busy rush hour traffic on roads that had several sections of construction and it was pretty hairy. After that it quieted down and we had our first Canadian Tour de Food stop at Hope Fellowship Church. They and a neighboring church, Maranatha, both CRCs co-hosted us to a lot of food and drink and showed the enthusiasm that is pretty regular at all the Canadian church areas we go through. They really come out and go all out in welcoming us. Len Riemersma, the chaplain of the 2008 tour, is now the Pastor at Maranatha and we talked with him for a bit.

We then had a long section of sparsely populated area on high rolling hills that at times overlooked Lake Ontario. We went through a cute town of Port Hope and the buildings looked very European. We were treated to a wonderful lunch at Grace CRC Church in Cobourg  as the Tour de Food continued. Then at about the 70 mile mark, we had another stop for ice cream, Ollie Bolen, and Sea To Sea decorated cookies at the CRC church in Brighton. Wow! It had just started to rain as Dan, Danita, and I rolled into the Brighton church. It then poured for about ½ hour and we left in light sprinkles, but the rain did not return. We finished the last 12 miles riding with the Drosts.

Then we finished the day out with a ride through the countryside into Trenton. We are camped at the Trenton Christian School.

Julie had off from SAGging today, as there were so many churches that provided food and rest rooms along the way.

Thank God for the support we are getting every day from local churches.

Augie would like a Ses to Sea green T-shirt Size
large. Faith Alive does not have the right size. Terry Barnes said that Larry Stehower has some with him. Could you check and see if he has the right size and we can get it from you when you are back at home.
A long comment that doesn't say much, but we are in daily prayer for the whole group. So sorry to hear that Paul has a broken femur and had to leave the tour.
